Porous copper foam is widely used for lithium ion batteries, fuel cells and supercapacitors thanks to its high thermal and electronic conductivity. It is used as a substrate for in-situ growth of hierarchical electrode material which benefits from its porous structure. It is also found in applications such as heat sink materials, heat-absorbing materials, and chemical catalyst support.
